I'm not anti-privacy, but there are many arguments made by privacy activists that I simply do not understand. Case in point: An interesting
article about sophisticated screening procedures being developed that mine your personal data looking for profiling clues (e.g. one example they give is that one person on a plane paid for the tickets of four others, none of whom are sitting together and all of whom once shared an address). The article then states, "... critics also worry that law enforcement authorities will be tempted to use it for broader aims, such as snaring deadbeat parents or profiling for drug couriers." What I don't understand is, in what way is this a bad thing?!?
