article about telemarketers, and how rigorous do-not-call laws are hurting their business. They always couch this argument in terms like this: The "bad" telemarketers are forcing the creation of these really strict laws, which prevent the "good" telemarketers from providing their valuable services. What I don't understand is, what is an example of a "good" telemarketer? In other words, if a law was passed that no business could ever call you on the phone, would anyone other than the telemarketers themselves protest?
