Keeping baggies clean
My better half just showed me a great trick for keeping the outside of a zipper bag clean when you put something icky in it (in this case, bacon): Fold over the top of the bag the way you would a pants cuff, fill the bag, and then uncuff it and zip it up.

Hat tip for you, I WILL use that

I always do this:
hold the baggie with your left hand
put your right hand on the bottom of the baggie and push up, turning the baggie inside out
you now have the baggie over your right hand, with the inside of the bottom at the top of your fingers
pick up whatever icky thing you want to pick up, then pull back with your right hand, turning the baggie right side out again, so whatever you picked up is now inside the baggie
That keeps both the outside of the baggie and you hands clean. This is how I always put chicken in freezer bags when we buy bulk. (Of course, the whole thing would be reversed if you were left handed)
