VoIP: Not yet

I finally got around to checking out VoIP service, but from what I can learn from
ZDNET, it's not quite there yet. It's not a lot cheaper than my current phone service, has some major disadvantages (e.g. no power = no phone), and would require a heavy initial investment in new phone equipment. So, I'm still waiting; I expect that the magic bullet for me will be in a few years when there are phones that combine cellular (for wandering) and wi-fi VoIP (for at home).

There certainly are some disadvantages with VOIP. It's cheap but the quality isn't there. It's likely to improve in the future though.
