I just discovered the
Everyday Economics column on Slate, and I'm hooked. I'm always fascinated by rational explanations for why people do things, and also in the quantification of seemingly unquantifiable things (e.g. the dollar value of a human life), and this column is full of both, and is easily understood and fun to read too. I'll have to check out his books: The Armchair Economist and Fair Play.
